  • Submitted by: Oliver Mundell, Dumfriesshire, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 10 June 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17881

That the Parliament congratulates Ann Menzies on her retirement, after 26 years of working in the Scottish Parliament; recognises that she was among the very first members of staff to start after the 1999 election; notes the important role that she played in supporting former Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party leader, David McLetchie, over many years until his sad death in 2013, the wider MSP group through the Whip's Office, Cameron Buchanan during his time in the Parliament, and latterly Oliver Mundell MSP as his Head of Office; further notes that Ann Menzies has supported, helped and worked with many individuals, organisations and Cross-Party Groups during her time in the Parliament; understands that she has always gone above and beyond the call of duty in the service of others, in particular constituents and the wider public, earning her a positive reputation around Holyrood and leading to many friendships; wishes her well in the years to come; thanks Ann for all her public service, and notes what it sees as the vital work of both Members’ staff and parliamentary staff and the invaluable contribution that they make.
