Recognising Robert Kincaid’s Donation to Marine Science Education

That the Parliament recognises the generous donation of £8,000, plus Gift Aid, made by Oban resident, Robert Kincaid, to the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS); understands that the funding will support outdoor marine science education by providing equipment such as a remotely operated vehicle, hydrophone, and field microscope to help pupils explore and understand the ocean environment; further understands that pupils from Dunbeg Primary School will be among the first to benefit from the new kit; acknowledges Robert’s wish to inspire young people and promote ocean literacy, and commends SAMS for its outreach work and development of the new Ocean STEM Hub as part of the Argyll and Bute Rural Growth Deal.
