Community Food Initiatives North East

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 09 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17464

That the Parliament notes that the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Bill was passed in 2022 and understands that the Scottish Government’s draft action plan is due to be presented to the Parliament before the end of 2025, with other relevant authorities due to issue their own plans afterwards; understands that the Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE), based in Aberdeen Central, is keen to help local authorities and NHS boards in the consultation and production of local Good Food Nation plans; further understands that CFINE, which participates in the Sustainable Food Places Partnership as host partner of Granite City Good Food, is already at the forefront of a whole-systems approach to sustainable food, one of the key priorities of a Good Food Nation, through a whole range of activities and services; believes that CFINE’s extensive experience and involvement in Good Food Nation initiatives, as well as its work with strategic partners such as Aberdeen City Council and NHS Grampian, would be invaluable in helping shape local Good Food Nation plans, and hopes that this wealth of knowledge can be utilised to good use.
