Congratulating Dr Andrea Rodriguez of the University of Dundee’s School of Dentistry for her Research and Leadership in Tackling Oral Health Inequalities

That the Parliament congratulates Dr Andrea Rodriguez of the University of Dundee’s School of Dentistry for her research and leadership in tackling oral health inequalities among people experiencing homelessness and those in prison; notes what it sees as her innovative use of participatory methods and international knowledge exchange, particularly between Scotland and Brazil, to develop impactful training for health and social care practitioners; welcomes the recent delivery of training to NHS Scotland staff involved in the Smile4Life and Mouth Matters programmes, which, it understands, support vulnerable groups with oral health promotion; recognises the launch of a practical guide to aid implementation of oral health improvement programmes, and commends NHS Education for Scotland and its partners for their commitment to reducing inequalities through sustainable collaboration between academia, NHS Scotland and the third sector to promote accessible oral healthcare for all.
