That the Parliament commends the pupils, staff and senior management team of Lenzie Academy for attaining their fourth Gold Award re-accreditation by sportscotland; applauds the opportunities extended to pupils of all abilities, ages and backgrounds to improve their physical fitness and wellbeing through curricular and extra-curricular activities; recognises the continued dedication and teamwork that enables a wide range of sporting clubs for pupils, including badminton, basketball, dance, football, gymnastics, hockey, rugby and table tennis; believes that this Gold Award for 2025-27 is testament to the long-term commitment of the headteacher, Brian Paterson, and his staff team, to increase young people’s wider life opportunities and engagement in physical education, school sport and leadership, providing encouragement towards lifelong pathways for fitness and wellbeing; acknowledges with gratitude the unwavering support of parents, carers and family members in enabling young people to thrive in sporting activities, enthusiastically cheering them on in many ways as they discover their sporting passions, grow in fitness and tenacity and increasingly understand effective teamwork; highlights the powerful work of sportscotland through these awards and the impactful legacy that is built by each school on their journey towards what it sees as this rigorous accreditation, and sends its congratulations and best wishes to the school community of Lenzie Academy for its continued enjoyment of these activities.
