That the Parliament commends North Lanarkshire's Digital Skills for Life course, funded through North Lanarkshire Council's Community Empowerment NL fund; congratulates the group of adult learners who have successfully completed the six-week programme; understands that there has been a significant improvement in the participants’ digital capabilities and an unexpected, yet welcome, outcome in terms of the strong sense of teamwork that emerged among the group, as they supported one another throughout their learning journey, empowering themselves with the confidence to embrace new challenges and seize opportunities in what it sees as today’s technology-driven society; notes that the course, delivered by the community learning and development team, incorporated a wide range of interactive activities, covering topics such as emails, digital photography, online scams, internet safety, social media and artificial intelligence; understands that the course aligned with the digital priorities set out in the Bellshill Local Outcome Improvement Plan; recognises that this initiative was delivered in partnership with the council’s Driving Digital Locally programme, Bellshill YMCA, and Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire (VANL), with the shared goal of improving digital inclusion and skills among residents in Holytown; expresses gratitude to all those involved in the design and delivery of this impactful course; acknowledges what it sees as the positive difference it has made to the local community, and wishes all participants continued success as they apply their new digital skills in future endeavours.
