  • Motion reference: S6M-16862

That the Parliament celebrates the upcoming fourth annual Govan Music Festival, which takes place across Govan from 26 to 29 March 2025; understands that the festival is all about bringing people together, highlighting all of Govan’s beautiful diversity, and helping everyone live better through music; believes that a huge range of musical talent will take part across multiple genres, such as classical, jazz, rap, folk, world music and more; acknowledges that this year’s festival also marks the first birthday of FREED UP, which is an organisation that puts on events and entertainment for people in recovery and all looking for a sober night out; congratulates the group on being awarded significant multi-year funding from Creative Scotland to continue its vital work in the area for the next three years; commends the event organisers, Glasgow Barons, and the artists, performers and volunteers on their invaluable contribution to the Govan community and Glasgow, and wishes everyone all the very best for this year's festival.
