  • Submitted by: Jackie Dunbar, Aberdeen Donside, Scottish National Party.

  • Motion reference: S6M-14885
  • Current status: Fallen

That the Parliament congratulates the Aberdeen-based charity, AberNecessities, on raising over £58,000 at its fifth birthday ball; notes that 2024's theme focused on the importance of a child’s first five years, which are critical, formative years that shape their future; understands that the event also marked the launch of AberNecessities’ Birthday Pledge Initiative, sponsored by Ocean Installer, which aims to highlight the importance of every child being able to celebrate their birthday; further understands that, since the charity’s launch in 2019, AberNecessities has supported over 18,000 children, providing essentials such as nappies, formula milk, clothing, toiletries, baby equipment, beds and bedding to families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire; applauds AberNecessities for its fundraising success, and wishes everyone involved with the charity all the best.
