That the Parliament acknowledges the unveiling of a new mural in Leith dedicated to the late Sir Eduardo Paolozzi to celebrate the centenary of his birth; recognises that it was commissioned by the Friends of the Water of Leith Basins, and created with support from local architecture firm, GRAS, and arts charity, Leith Late; notes what it sees as the cultural and social significance of Sir Eduardo Paolozzi’s work; congratulates Edinburgh-born artist, Halla Groves-Raines, who was chosen in 2023 to be the mural’s creator after an extensive search; notes that her design features an older depiction of Paolozzi in a pop-art style, as a tribute to the art movement for which he was a major influence, and celebrates that residents and visitors alike will have the opportunity to see this piece in the place of Paolozzi’s birth.
