That the Parliament congratulates Blooming Haddington on being awarded the best Medium Town award and two Beautiful Scotland discretionary awards, the Haddington 700 Discretionary Award for St Mary's Pleasance, and the David Welch Memorial Award for Something Special for Amisfield Walled Garden, in the 2024 Beautiful Scotland awards that are hosted by Keep Scotland Beautiful; welcomes Blooming Haddington’s contribution to the town through the work of people of all ages and abilities who care deeply about keeping their town looking beautiful by maintaining over 120 hanging baskets in the summer months, and planters and tattie boxes dotted around the town centre; recognises that Beautiful Scotland is a long-established community environmental improvement initiative, which is operated in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) under the Britain in Bloom campaign; understands that Beautiful Scotland supports groups across Scotland as they seek to improve and enhance their local environment, and recognises the enormous amount of hard work that goes into keeping Haddington looking exceptional, including by all the volunteers involved in Blooming Haddington who are supported by the maintenance team at East Lothian Council and the wider community in Haddington.
