That the Parliament recognises that the month of September is Urology Awareness Month, which was established by The Urology Foundation, the leading UK charity in the fight against urology disease; recognises that the aim of the month is to raise awareness of urological diseases, including bladder, kidney, prostate and male reproductive cancers and also non-malignant conditions, such as incontinence, urinary tract infections, erectile dysfunction and kidney stones; notes that one in two people will be diagnosed with a urology condition in their lifetime; understands that the theme of this year’s awareness month is "Men’s Urology Health: Myths and Legends", which aims to debunk the myths around urology health that cause men to explain away potentially significant symptoms and also urges men to recognise when something is not right, to "be a legend" and speak out to get help; recognises the importance of raising awareness, given that early detection and treatment can make a significant difference to outcomes, and urges everyone to take notice of any changes to their urinary and reproductive systems and have them checked by a GP or healthcare professional.
