Celebrating the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub Project

  • Submitted by: Audrey Nicoll, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 01 August 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13991

That the Parliament welcomes the final investment decision for the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub project, which is a joint venture between BP and Aberdeen City Council; notes that the hub will feature a hydrogen production, storage and distribution facility powered by electricity generated at a solar farm on a former landfill site; acknowledges what it sees as this significant milestone in supporting the region's energy transition ambitions and its drive to become a leader in lower carbon energy; recognises the potential growth opportunities for the area's supply chain and skills development, and commends BP and Aberdeen City Council for their shared vision and commitment to the city's sustained future.
