Culture and Diversity Day Glasgow: A Celebration of Culture

  • Submitted by: Humza Yousaf, Glasgow Pollok, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 15 May 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13208

That the Parliament congratulates Safety Awareness Glasgow on its second annual Culture and Diversity Day taking place in Govan and Linthouse Parish Church on 17 May 2024; recognises what it sees as the vital importance of communities coming together to celebrate diversity, culture and heritage through spoken work, song and food; considers that the success of this annual event is positively contributing to the thriving and diverse community of Govan, the wider Glasgow Pollok Constituency and Scotland, and believes that events like Culture and Diversity Day are needed now more than ever, in order to combat racism, hatred and bigotry that it considers is still far too prevalent in society.
