Cullen Skink World Championships 2024

That the Parliament congratulates the winners of the 2024 Cullen Skink World Championships, which were held in the Seafield Arms, Cullen, the Banffshire and Buchan Coast village that gives this world-famous fish soup its name; understands that the competition saw 12 entrants from near and far enter the two categories, traditional and Cullen skink "with a twist"; notes that, for the first time in both categories, the judges' choice and the people's choice was different; further notes that Kelle Spooner from the Aberlour Hotel won the judges' prize in both categories, while Kai-Uwe Stutzkeitz won the people's prize for Cullen skink "with a twist" and Alison Taylor won the people's award for best traditional Cullen skink; commends the organisers for this fantastic community event that celebrates local traditions, and what it sees as the area's world-leading produce, to new audiences, and encourages everyone to make the trip to Cullen, the home of Cullen skink, and enjoy a bowl of what it considers to be Scotland's most loved soups in the stunning surroundings of the Banffshire and Buchan Coast village.
