  • Submitted by: Pam Duncan-Glancy, Glasgow, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 12 April 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12821

That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) on being ranked number six in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024; recognises that it has now achieved this great ranking in eight of the last nine years; believes that this is a remarkable and fitting testament to all of the great work, efforts and vision of the staff team, led by its principal, Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, and of its students; considers that, with some 1,200 students graduating per year, Scotland’s conservatoire continues to shine and that its notable roll of famous alumni, which includes three Dr Whos as former students, continues to grow, and believes that the RCS is an institution of which Glasgow and the country is proud.
