That the Parliament welcomes World Tuberculosis Day, observed annually on 24 March, which serves as a crucial platform to raise awareness about the global fight against tuberculosis (TB); understands the theme for 2024, "Yes! We can end TB!", underscores the importance of collective action to combat this infectious disease; further understands that one of the key strategies in the fight against TB is scaling up access to preventive treatment; considers that ensuring universal access to healthcare and reducing inequalities is essential to effectively diagnosing and treating TB cases; is disheartened that, despite significant progress in TB control efforts, challenges reportedly persist, including poverty, discrimination, stigma, disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing conflicts in certain regions; believes that these challenges underscore the importance of continued investment and innovation, and hopes to see global cooperation in order to achieve the goal of ending TB.
