Home2Hospital Initiative Helps Cancer Patients in Falkirk East

  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 20 March 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12589

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of a new initiative to support those living with cancer within the Falkirk East constituency and beyond; understands that Home2Hospital will provide support to cancer patients across the Stenhousemuir and Larbert areas of Falkirk, with a team of volunteer drivers ready and in place to support where required; further understands that this initiative was made possible through funding support, including a community empowerment grant from Falkirk Council, and funds from the Albert Hunt Trust, Larbert Roundtable and the National Lottery; notes that Home2Hopsital has been set up to provide transport for those who reside in Stenhousemuir or Larbert, but require treatment outwith the district; understands that the volunteer driver will pick up the patient, safely escort them to their appointment, and wait to transport the individual back home again; congratulates all those involved in the establishment of Home2Hospital, which, it believes, is a fantastic organisation that provides crucial support at what it sees as a very challenging time for those within the community who are enduring cancer treatment, and wishes them all the best of luck.
