That the Parliament congratulates Danny McBean, a 21-year-old apprentice electrician from Forres, for being named the 2023 SkillELECTRIC champion, and one of the best apprentices in the UK; understands that, as a Moray College UHI student and employee of Grants of Dufftown, Danny showcased exceptional skills during an intensive three-day UK-wide competition at Oldham College; recognises Danny's journey from early inspiration in STEM subjects at Applegrove Primary School and Forres Academy to his decision to pursue a practical approach in his apprenticeship with Grants of Dufftown; further recognises the crucial role played by teachers in nurturing Danny's interest in physics; commends Danny's commitment to putting theory into practice; wishes him continued success in his career progression, and recognises what it sees as the huge benefits of apprenticeship schemes for skilled jobs in rural areas, particularly in relation to housing.
