That the Parliament commends postal workers in the South Scotland region, and beyond, who, it believes, provide an excellent service and work diligently to serve local communities; understands that postal workers are busy throughout the year, but particularly during the Christmas period; believes that postal workers continue to fight for better conditions, represented by their trade union, the Communication Workers Union (CWU); considers there to be significant importance attached to the Universal Service Obligation (USO); believes that any review into the future of the USO must take into account the views and experiences of postal workers in Scotland and across the UK, in the interests of protecting the postal services of the country; appreciates what it sees as the first class service delivery provided by postal workers to customers and communities, and wishes postal workers across the country well, ahead of another busy festive period under what it considers are challenging circumstances.
