City of Glasgow College Secures Queen’s Award for Research

That the Parliament commends City of Glasgow College on being awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education; understands that the City of Glasgow College won a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for its life-saving research into oxygen depletion in enclosed spaces on-board ships, with the findings being shared through the development of accredited materials to students globally in partnership with the Merchant Navy Training Board and the Maritime Education Foundation; notes that the Queen’s Anniversary Prizes celebrate excellence, innovation and public benefit in work carried out by UK colleges and universities; further notes that the Queen’s Anniversary Prizes are the highest national honour awarded in the UK further and higher education and are granted every two years, and commends City of Glasgow College on winning this prestigious award.
