This Parliament congratulates the charity, Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, on winning the Pride of Formatine Award, which was presented by local councillor, Derek Ritchie; understands that this is the first award to be bestowed in Oldmeldrum; further understands that this charity provides invaluable support to families at a critical time; notes that the charity focuses on supporting families of terminally ill children in both financial and practical ways during their darkest days; recognises the efforts of Jonathan and Anna Cordiner, who were the founders of this charity, following the tragic loss of their own child; notes the efforts of the charity in building strong connections with hospices and hospitals in Scotland to raise awareness of their resources to assist families; recognises the contributions of dedicated health professionals in providing much needed support, and understands that the charity has assisted over 700 families that have also resulted in over £1,000,000 being paid out in grants.
