60th Anniversary of Cambuslang and District Community Voluntary Care Club

That the Parliament celebrates the 60-year anniversary of Cambuslang and District Community Voluntary Care Club; notes that a diamond celebration event was held in Cambuslang Parish Church Hall on 8 November 2023; understands that the club aims to provide social and leisure facilities for adults and was set up in 1963 to provide such facilities for pupils when they left their place of learning; pays tribute to Walter Currie and Kenneth Massey who have been members since the club’s first meeting on 7 September 1963; highlights that Anne MacKenzie, whose mother was on the committee that started the club, was given a special award at the celebration event for the family’s commitment and involvement over the past 60 years, and wishes all members of the Cambuslang and District Community Voluntary Care Club the very best.
