That the Parliament welcomes the annual gritter-naming contest launched by Amey, as it prepares a new fleet of vehicles to maintain and keep Scotland’s trunk roads network, including those in the north east, clear throughout winter 2023-24; notes that the competition provides people with an opportunity to creatively name their local gritter to join previous winners such as Sir Andy Flurry, Gritty Gritty Bang Bang and Sir Grits Hoy, and recognises the hard work of Amey’s dedicated colleagues who work 24 hours a day to keep roads safe and moving this winter for the travelling public and local communities.
