Professor Eyad Elyan Named Academic of the Year in National Awards

That the Parliament congratulates Professor Eyad Elyan of Robert Gordon University on being named Academic of the Year at the esteemed Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Awards 2023; notes that he won the award for his leading role in a KTP project with Aberdeen-based AISUS Offshore, which it understands has transformed the traditional method of assessing the structural integrity of offshore assets to one that uses state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning methods to significantly enhance operations; notes what it sees as the vital role of Robert Gordon University and the North of Scotland KTP Centre in supporting this project, which it considers to be an example of their critical support of the business community; commends Professor Elyan for his exceptional skills and commitment in knowledge transfer, leadership and mentoring, and wishes him every success in his future projects.
