Mid Argyll Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Celebrates Anniversary

  • Submitted by: Donald Cameron, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 08 September 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-10372

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS) will celebrate its centenary year, while its Mid Argyll branch will celebrate its 40th anniversary at the same time; understands that the Mid Argyll branch was originally established by Marjie Killean, and that it will commemorate this milestone with a family ceilidh in the afternoon and an informal dance in the evening; notes the comments from the current chairperson of the Mid Argyll branch, Kim Ritchie, who is eager to welcome new dancers of all levels of experience, and hopes that the RSCDS will continue to inspire new generations into Scottish country dancing for years to come.
