Lothian Buses Celebrates New Tap Record

  • Submitted by: Sarah Boyack, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 04 September 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-10291

That the Parliament congratulates Lothian Buses on achieving a new record of over 100,000 taps in a single day on its TapTapCap system; understands that the milestone was reached on 18 August 2023; notes that the TapTapCap system, which was implemented by Lothian Buses, caps the total payment of bus travel at a discounted adult day ticket after three separate journeys; understands that it previously won the Excellence in Transport Accessibility category at the 2023 Scottish Transport Awards for its new system; celebrates the record, and recognises what it sees as the important contribution that Lothian Buses plays in providing affordable public transport across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
