That the Parliament pays tribute to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which has awarded a grant to the project, Our Past, My Future, which is run by Enable Scotland, in North Lanarkshire; notes that the amount awarded was £237,415, which represents 100% of total costs; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of organisations such as Enable Scotland to help empower communities across North Lanarkshire to recognise the local history and positive changes made by people with learning disabilities to human rights and life in Scotland; understands that the project aims to celebrate and promote the heritage of the social changes for people with learning disabilities over the last 70 years, and that it will also focus on the role that Enable Scotland, the nation’s largest disability charity, along with its members, has played in making that change; believes that such charities make fundamental contributions in communities by meeting their social, cultural and recreational needs; further believes that volunteers deserve recognition, respect and appreciation for what it sees as their critical efforts in supporting communities, and thanks the National Lottery Heritage Fund for providing the resources needed to preserve these projects.
