That the Parliament recognises the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards 2023, and, in particular, notes the success of three members from the West Scotland region; congratulates Arlene Fox, a registered nurse and care home manager at the Nightingale Care Home in Paisley, who won the RCN Scotland Care Home Nursing Award; further congratulates district nurse, Michelle Dalgarno, who won the RCN Scotland Clinical Leadership Award; congratulates Derek Barron, Director of Care at Erskine, who won the RCN Scotland Strategic Leadership Award, and understands that these individuals were nominated for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to, their efforts to tackle challenges of recruitment and retention of staff, their commitment to research and evidence, creating a positive working environment, reducing hospital admissions and GP referrals, while all being recognised as impressive leaders in their workplaces.
