That the Parliament congratulates Lyra’s Young Artist Programme on receiving the Arts and Creativity Award at the National Youth Work Awards 2023; understands that Lyra addresses the profound challenges of poverty, racial inequality and social disparities faced by children and young people in the Greater Craigmillar area; acknowledges that, since 2012, Lyra has worked to improve the self-esteem, grow the aspirations and build the confidence of these children and young people, by helping them to develop new skills, express themselves creatively, learn to produce shows, and experience art and culture; believes that Lyra has succeeded in doing so, by creating a programme of high-quality artworks and creative projects with arts professionals from Scotland and around the world; thanks all the team members, paid and unpaid, for their continuous hard word, and commends them for improving the lives of the children and young people in the area.
