NHS Borders Armed Forces Day 2023

That the Parliament notes that NHS Borders is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant; understands that the Covenant is a pledge that those who currently serve or have served, and their families, should be treated fairly; congratulates NHS Borders on the achievement of holding the Silver Defence Employer Recognition Scheme accreditation, which demonstrates support for those who have served and their families; understands that NHS Borders is actively pursuing Gold accreditation; further understands that there are current NHS Borders staff who have served in the military as well as in the wider community; applauds the joint working with charities Defence Medical Welfare Services (DMWS) and Veterans First Point, which is part of NHS Borders Mental Health Services, to offer, it understands, practical and emotional support to ensure that no one goes through the worry of illness or injury alone, and thanks all NHS Borders staff for the assistance and support that they provide to the armed forces, veterans and their families.
