Newarthill Primary School Pupils Plant New Wildflower Meadow

That the Parliament acknowledges the new wildflower meadow that has been planted in Newarthill Woods, with help from Newarthill Primary School pupils; understands that it was an invaluable experience for the children, who were delighted to learn about the wildlife and biodiversity of the area; notes that Newarthill Woods is one of the five winning projects suggested and voted for by local people through the Greenspace Participatory Budgeting, which is run by North Lanarkshire Council’s Community Greenspace team and funded by NatureScot’s Nature Restoration Fund, and commends North Lanarkshire’s Community Greenspace team and Newarthill Primary School pupils for enhancing local wildlife habitats and greenspaces to help the local environment become more resilient to climate change.
