That the Parliament congratulates Daniel West of Mogerleys Butcher’s Shop, located in Friar’s Vennel, Dumfries, on winning the Diamond Award in the biennial Scottish Pork Sausage Championship, which was held on 18 May 2023, at the Scottish Craft Butchers Trade Fair in Perth, and included a highly competitive group of 70 entrants; recognises that Daniel scooped the prize just two months after taking over the butcher shop from his uncle, Gordon Little, and that he used his grandfather’s 30-year-old recipe; understands that Mogerleys, which has operated on the site of one of the most historic streets in Dumfries since 1876, has also been named South Scotland regional winner for its traditional haggis, and that the team secured four gold and silver awards for other Make It With Haggis products; wishes Daniel and all at Mogerleys Butcher’s Shop every success for the future, and thanks them for their contribution to Dumfries town centre.
