  • Submitted by: Finlay Carson, Galloway and West Dumfries, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 30 May 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-09161

That the Parliament congratulates Henrys Bay House Restaurant, in Stranraer, on being voted Restaurant of the Year South West at the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2023, an event that showcases the best on offer within the country’s hospitality sector; notes that the restaurant overlooks the picturesque Loch Ryan, where you can watch the ferries going to and from Northern Ireland and Cairnryan Port from what it considers to be one of the finest sun terraces, and where you can also enjoy alfresco dining; understands that the judging panel was enthralled by the menu, which features locally-sourced fish and meat, prepared and freshly cooked to order by chef and restauranteur, John Henry, supported by his wife, Jane, and a team of attentive, welcoming staff who run the restaurant and bar that attracts trade from locals and tourists alike, and wishes the establishment continued success in the future.
