That the Parliament notes that 27 May 2023 will mark the 150th anniversary of local newspaper, the Edinburgh Evening News (EEN); congratulates the paper on what it sees as its longevity and commitment to journalistic truth; recognises what it considers to be the tremendous work that the EEN does in the community, including its campaigning on various issues such as the social care crisis, the push for a new eye hospital in Edinburgh, and its support of the Edinburgh Local Hero Awards; considers that, for the duration of this period, the EEN has produced news of the highest quality and standard, and wishes it every success in the future.
