  • Submitted by: Michelle Thomson, Falkirk East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 18 May 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-08966

That the Parliament recognises the 37 years given to the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) by Margaret Erskine, of Grangemouth, in the Falkirk East constituency; notes that when Margaret first joined the charity over 37 years ago, it was known as the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service; understands that Margaret’s service began with contributions to the invaluable meals on wheels provision before she moved on to work at the Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary, where she would visit the wards with the trolley service to support patients, alongside working in the infirmary shop; understands that Margaret is still volunteering her time to RVS at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, where she delivers her fantastic service to staff, patients and visitors alike, offering her wealth of experience as a mentor to new volunteers to help them fulfil their roles; congratulates Margaret’s generosity and compassion with her long and continued service volunteering via the RVS, and wishes her all the best for the future.
