That the Parliament wishes Aviemore firefighter, Jamie Stewart, every success as he sets out on a 27-mile trek from Braemar to Aviemore through the Lairig Ghru Pass to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support; understands that Jamie will set off on 26 August 2023 and will be joined by fellow firefighters, Stuart Boon, James Monaghan, Martin Amos and Kyle McRobert; further understands that Jamie has completed the same route previously but will be undertaking the challenge wearing his firefighting gear, weighing 9kg, on this occasion; notes that Jamie has set himself the challenge of raising £500 for Macmillan for a family member who currently has cancer, and for friends whose young children have been affected by cancer; commends Jamie for proposing such an innovative way to raise funds for a cause that is so close to his and many other people’s hearts, and wishes everyone involved a successful walk and safe return home.
