  • Submitted by: Gillian Mackay, Central Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 11 May 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-08883

That the Parliament acknowledges the opening of a new £1.5 million specialist centre, which, it believes, will transform the way that children and young people in Lanarkshire receive mental health care; notes that the new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a state-of-the-art facility, which will assess and treat young people up to the age of 18 with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties; understands that the new centre was developed with input from young people and their families, ensuring that it is tailored to meet their needs; further understands that the centre will offer specialist services, including CAMHS assessment, neurodevelopmental treatments, talking treatments, psychiatry and medication, and understands that the new facility is enabling staff to offer more timely and effective treatment to help young people to get back on track and achieve their potential.
