That the Parliament congratulates Stonehaven-based Marion Montgomery, who was awarded the Point of Light Award from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, in recognition of the work she has carried out with her charity, Paws on Plastic, which she launched in 2018; notes that Paws on Plastic is an online community of 23,000 British dog walkers, who each pick up two items of litter every time they go on a dog walk; understands that Marion was inspired by her dogs, her old Labrador-collie cross, Murphy, and more recently her Labradors, Paddy and Ted, who would often pick up plastic bottles when going on walks along the beach; further understands that the Paws on Plastic community pick up in excess of 34 million pieces of litter every year, which will help protect animals and be a huge boost to the natural environment; notes that Marion is the 2,011th person to receive the Point of Light award, which was first launched in April 2014 to recognise outstanding individuals making a positive change within their community and inspiring others, with someone each day selected by the Prime Minister to receive the award to celebrate their remarkable achievements; encourages those who are able to sign up to Paws on Plastic to do so, and commends Marion and the ever-growing Paws on Plastic Community for the fantastic work that they carry out.
