That the Parliament recognises the contribution that Paul O’Grady, comedian, broadcaster, actor, and, importantly, animal lover, made to publicising the work of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and the special bond between dogs and people; notes that, in 2012, For the Love of Dogs was launched and that, from being a volunteer, he became an ambassador for the work of Battersea, helping many dogs to find homes; further notes that this work was recognised at the 2018 National Television Awards, highlighting the impact that he had through For the Love of Dogs in helping to find homes for rescue animals nationwide, and rehoming several himself at his own home; considers that his love and concern for these animals was sincere and infectious, and offers condolences to his partner, family and friends and all at Battersea on his sudden recent death.
