  • Motion reference: S6M-08386

That the Parliament congratulates Falkirk Rugby Club on receiving an award of £100,000 from sportscotland; notes that the funding will be used to upgrade its existing pavilion to provide a more inclusive changing area and gym, as well as providing two changing rooms for officials; understands that the improved facilities will support the community engagement of the club by providing a more attractive environment and better opportunities for participation; further understands that the rugby club also runs a schools programme in partnership with Grangemouth Rugby Club, called The Kelpies, which aims to provide a positive rugby experience, especially for women and girls, as well as for people from disadvantaged backgrounds, to ensure that more people in Falkirk have the chance to become physically active and connected to their local community, and wishes the club and its participants all the best for the future.
