NHS Grampian Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service New Garden Space

  • Submitted by: Tess White, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 14 March 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-08211

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement by NHS Grampian’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) that it is developing a new garden space at its Links Unit base in Aberdeen; understands that the new garden, which will be built with the help of local garden designer, Heather Dale, will provide a safe space for reflection, play and sensory enjoyment for patients and their families, as well as including a wellbeing space for staff; notes that the CAMHS team is now looking for donations from local businesses, as well as volunteers to assist with digging, planting and labouring; recognises what it sees as the importance that this garden will have for patients in the care of CAMHS, and their families, and wishes the team well in the design and build of what it considers to be this crucial outside space.
