  • Motion reference: S6M-08156

That the Parliament congratulates the owners and staff of The Fish Works in Largs on winning the Quality Accreditation Award at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023, hosted at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London; understands that the Quality Accreditation category celebrates businesses throughout the UK that give their customers the best quality fish and chips, scoring candidates on taste, cleanliness and hygiene, staff professionalism and commitment to sustainably sourced products; recognises that The Fish Works team also progressed through multiple knockout rounds in a bid to be crowned Fish and Chip Takeaway of the Year, but were ultimately pipped to the post and awarded third place; appreciates that The Fish Works competed against the very best fish and chip businesses from across the UK and only reached the finals of these categories following extensive judging from an anonymous panel of industry experts; wishes The Fish Works every success as it seeks to maintain its title, and looks forward to future triumphs at next year’s awards.
