Kerrera Community Hub

  • Submitted by: Jenni Minto, Argyll and Bute, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 07 March 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-08094

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that, following a significant investment from Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), the Isle of Kerrera Development Trust has completed its funding package for its community hub project; understands that the project aims to renovate and convert the island’s former Victorian primary school building, which the Trust acquired in 2019 with help from the Scottish Land Fund; notes that this conversion hopes to see the building become a functional, energy efficient community-owned facility that will help the island’s community to be more sustainable; further notes that this project aims to support a part-time job and generate around £50,000 income for the community over the next three years, and commends all involved with the Isle of Kerrera Development Trust for their hard work to bring the project to this stage.
