Official Opening of Capital Credit Union HQ

That the Parliament welcomes the official opening of Credit Union House, the new Capital Credit Union (CCU) headquarters in Broughton, Edinburgh; notes that CCU was established in 1989 and is one of the largest credit unions in the UK, with almost 26,000 members and assets of £45 million; understands that CCU offers a range of ethical financial services that help people save or access affordable loans, with membership being open to anyone living or working in the east of Scotland, which includes the Angus, City of Dundee, Fife, Falkirk, Clackmannanshire, West Lothian, City of Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and Scottish Borders local authority areas, who is employed by one of CCU's Select Partner Employers or is a member of the Community trade union, and commends CCU for its sustained positive impact on the financial wellbeing of individuals and communities in the areas it serves.
