Kincardine and Deeside Befriending Reaccredited with the Quality in Befriending Award

That the Parliament congratulates Stonehaven-based charity, Kincardine and Deeside Befriending, which has been reaccredited with the Quality in Befriending Award; notes that Kincardine and Deeside Befriending, which has been helping local people for over 25 years, aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness in older people throughout the Kincardine and Deeside area by matching them on a one-to-one basis with a volunteer befriender; understands that the Quality in Befriending Award is the only award in the UK that is specifically tailored for befriending services and is valued by referrers, befrienders, commissioners and funders; further understands that the award is operated by Befriending Networks in consultation with member organisations and other experts in the field of befriending, promoting good practice in the sector; notes that Kincardine and Deeside Befriending has, at times, helped up to 125 individuals in one year with regular befriending visits, and commends all the volunteers, past and present, for the fantastic work that they carry out.
