Affordable Homes on Colonsay

  • Submitted by: Jenni Minto, Argyll and Bute, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 10 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07864

That the Parliament welcomes the construction of affordable homes just outside of Scalasaig, on the Isle of Colonsay; understands that this project, led by the Colonsay Community Development Company and supported by the Communities Housing Trust, is delivering affordable homes on the island for the first time in 20 years; welcomes the reports that islanders, as well as those who have left the island but wish to move back, will be given priority for these properties; understands that two new community-owned commercial units are also being built as part of this development, and hopes that this project will have great success in helping to build and support the long-term future of the community on Colonsay.
