  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 07 February 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07714

That the Parliament extends its congratulations to Elize Bauld from Cowdenbeath on becoming the British Karate Federation Champion for 2023; notes that the home nations Grand Slam challenge, held in Penrith on 22 January 2023, comprised of the four best fighters from each nation in each weight category, with Elize Bauld being crowned overall champion; recognises what it sees as not just the incredible achievement of being overall champion, but also the extraordinarily dominant performance of the 61kg fighter in losing no points throughout the entire day, and sends its best wishes to Elize Bauld as she heads to Cyprus after being selected to represent Scotland at the European Karate Federation’s junior championship later this week.
