  • Submitted by: Christine Grahame, Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 23 January 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07582

That the Parliament congratulates Penicuik Athletic Youth Football Club on its donation of football equipment to sports academies in Malawi; understands that the club donated a consignment of strips and balls via Strips4Malawi, which were sent to the partner organisation, Play Football Malawi in the capital, Lilongwe, in the central region of the country; notes that the Strips4Malawi initiative aims to provide new and good condition used youth football team strips to partner youth sports academies in Lilongwe, Ekwendeni and Blantyre in a bid to encourage participation in sport among some of the most deprived young people in Malawi, and pays credit to the Penicuik Athletic Youth Football Club members on their generous and thoughtful donation, which will help to share their love of football with other young people in a developing country.
