  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 11 January 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-07466

That the Parliament acknowledges the awarding of £90,951.60 in Scottish Government funding to the New Cumnock Development Trust (NCDT); understands that the funding will go towards the renovation of the former Trotters Building in New Cumnock; notes that NCDT received £24,750 through The Scottish Land Fund in 2022 to purchase the building for the community; understands that the plans are to redevelop the building into a re-use and repair hub with training and apprenticeship opportunities; further understands that this is a large project of the current semi-derelict building and could take until 2025 for completion; recognises that this as part of a wider project for the community to create employment, enterprise opportunities and revive the town; believes this funding to be a big boost for NCDT, residents of New Cumnock and visitors, and wishes all involved the very best with this project going forward.
