That the Parliament extends its congratulations to Martin Davidson on becoming the next Chief Executive of the Outward Bound Trust; recognises what it sees as the transformational work undertaken by Nick Barrett who is stepping down on 13 February 2022 after 16 years in the role; notes the considerable knowledge and experience that Martin Davidson brings to the charity from his current role as Director of Scotland and Innovation; understands that the Outward Bound Trust faces immense challenges after the COVID-19 pandemic, which had a detrimental impact on the physical and mental wellbeing of many young people; commends the drive of the Outward Bound Trust to build confidence, self-belief, self-reliance and resilience in young people through connection with the natural environment, and sends its full support and best wishes to Martin Davidson in what are such difficult times for the outdoor education sector.
